I look out
Of our bedroom window
To see
The elusive Shama
On the guava tree
Whistling its complex melody
For me
Collecting lemons
I nearly trip over white jewels:
Habenaria plantaginea is blooming
A flash of black and white
Passes before my eyes:
A white-bellied drongo is zooming by
And the icing on the cake
Or rather
The topping on the pizza:
Wild mushrooms for dinner
The monsoon has arrived
And all Nature is crying out
What we need is here
